Did you know it’s Australian Giving Week from November 29 - December 5 2009?
According to the website, the aim of this annual event is to focus attention on the many ways that individuals, families, businesses, and groups can make a difference to their community. “It’s about helping people take some small, simple steps that open the way for a better supported, more inclusive, more vibrant community – not just during the Christmas period but all year long as well.”

I’ve just attended an excellent conference called ‘Breakthrough: The Women, Faith and Development Summit to End Global Poverty’ and want to share an outstanding 2 minute video clip which was presented by the Nike Foundation at the session on ‘Philanthropy & social investment - why invest in women and girls?’.
The room, full of donors, trustees, CEO’s of foundations and charities - not an easy audience to impress - was captivated.
See what you think.
