The Foundation Sector in Canada: Trends and Issues
Hilary Pearson, President & CEO of Philanthropic Foundations Canada, a sister-body to Philanthropy Australia, spent some of time speaking with Full Members of Philanthropy Australia about private philanthropy in Canada. Our two countries are comparable in many ways; to name just a few: we both have historical links to Britain; both are large land masses with relatively small, dispersed populations; and both have benefited significantly from the recent ‘resources boom’. Are our philanthropic traditions and practices also comparable? What can we learn from each other? This session was held on Monday, 2 April, 2007.
